Ilango (Raghuvaran) a retired college professor returns to his village along with his daughter Charulatha ( Mamta). He is joined soon after by the protagonist Sathyamurthy (Vishal) for his research in music, to collect folk songs.The duo travel through vales and dales, jungles and plains through many villages to add to their archive. But they have a sinister agenda.At this juncture, Govt. announces general elections. Acting as vigilante, Sathyamurthy kills a candidate who is on his way to the collector’s office to file his nomination. He repeats this heinous crime with all other candidates.The nation is in total uproar. Candidates in all constituencies are petrified.  Central Govt sends their police official to investigate the series of murders.He finds the ex-principal and his student guilty and arrests them.Ilango explains the reason for their act in a flashback mode.

In a bi-election in a constituency in TamilNadu Ilango assigns his students to take an opinion poll. They come up with the result that the general public feel the ruling party would be defeated. Therefore the ruling party members enter the college premises and assault the students.In the ensuing chaos and stampede, Sathyamurthy’s dad and 30 students are killed. Sathyamurthy is ready to avenge his dad’s assassins.

He dons the cloak of a vigilante. Does he get caught? Is his mission justified?

So shouldn’t the same yardstick be followed to be a politician to rule this nation
without fear or favor?
